IACP’s CPAQ Assessment Tool Featured in the latest American Society of Anesthesiologists

September 13, 2012 -- Steven J. Goyer, MD, MBA, offers pharmacy compounding as a solution in his article – entitled, “Compounding” - which addresses concerns of the current drug shortage epidemic and its impact upon the availability of anesthetic agents.   Dr. Goyer also provides tips on selecting a compounding pharmacy, and includes mention of IACP’s Compounding Pharmacy Assessment Questionnaire™ (CPAQ).

CPAQ provides a comprehensive checklist of what to look for in a pharmacy compounding practice and is based upon United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards which compounding pharmacists are obligated to follow according to state board of pharmacy regulations or standards of practice.
