The CO Board of Pharmacy issued a notice to all non-resident pharmacies on December 18, 2012 that clarifies its prohibition on the distribution or sale of compounded or manufactured drugs to health care providers, pharmacies or others within the state.  While patient-specific prescriptions may continue to be filled and dispensed by non-resident pharmacies, any pharmacy engaged in the distribution or sale of medications must be registered as a wholesaler in its home state and with the CO Board.  All non-resident pharmacy permit holders are required to complete and return an affidavit to the Board attesting to that no later than January 17, 2013.
