IACP Wants You! Call for IACP Committee Volunteers

IACP invites members to volunteer to serve on a committee in 2013! Committee members provide an invaluable service to the Academy and its members by contributing to initiatives and projects that are essential to the continued advancement of pharmacy compounding. By serving on a committee you are given the opportunity to network, contribute to your profession, assist IACP Board of Directors and staff and expand your leadership skills.

Volunteers needed for the following IACP Committees:

  • Membership-help identify new products and services to grow and expand IACP’s membership
  • Communications/Publications-provide direct input on IACP’s publications, write articles, and help disseminate information about IACP’s activities on behalf of compounding
  • Legislative & Regulatory-assist IACP’s Board of Directors and staff in formulating responses to federal and state legislation and regulations affecting compounding
  • Education - Members would research and present ideas on how IACP can develop unique Continuing Education programs for pharmacists, technicians and pharmacy students.  Members would work directly with IACP Staff to set the annual agenda of Continuing Education programs for the IACP Annual Meeting Compounders on Capitol Hill (CCH), the Educational Conference, and IACP AdvanCE webinars.  Committee members are required to participate in quarterly teleconferences, email communication, engage in member outreach activities related to Continuing Education, and attend either the IACP Annual Meeting Compounders on Capitol Hill or the Educational Conference.
  • Professional Practice-expand IACP’s resources to help compounders tools and up-to-date information on how to best manage their compounding pharmacy

For more information on how you can get involved with the listed committees, please send an email to or call 281-933-8400.

Order the First Installment of the IACP Law Library!

As part of our ongoing development of tools, programs and materials that help our members improve their professional and business practice, IACP is launching its IACP Law Library. As conceived, this law library will provide pharmacists with a comprehensive analysis of state pharmacy law and regulation that affect many day-to-day decisions.

Our first installment in the IACP Law Library—Compounding for Office-Use is now available for purchase!

Working in collaboration with the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA), IACP created this resource after a lengthy and detailed review of the pharmacy statutes and regulations of the 50 states as they pertain to the sales of prescription drugs for office use to practitioners by pharmacies and compiled. That included checking wholesaler licensure laws and regulations (state PDMA laws), controlled substance regulations when referenced by the Boards of Pharmacy, as well as individual states’ labeling statutes and regulations. Once that was completed, the Boards of Pharmacy were contacted to confirm and obtain information, especially, for those states whose laws and regulations were not clear as to whether sales for office use is allowed and what the requirements are. Follow-up phone calls and emails were made to nearly 40 states. New Jersey did not respond to our request for a formal review. IACP members doing business in the state of New Jersey should confer with the Board of Pharmacy if they have any questions. As an added check, several state pharmacy associations also reviewed the final chart.
