IACP and 2014 - A Year in Review

  • IACP was successful in the introduction of legislation in the U.S. Senate to allow the constructive delivery of a controlled substance to a DEA registered practitioner.
  • Obtained language within the FY 2015 Appropriations legislation limiting FDA oversight over 503A compounding pharmacies.
  • Initiated the “Fix DQSA Initiative” and formed the Drug Quality and Security Act Coalition comprised of pharmacy, physician, and other practitioner stakeholders. The Coalition’s first action was to send a letter signed by more than 20 organizations to Congress, stating concerns with FDA efforts to prohibit office-use and repackaging in limiting patient access to vital medications.
  • IACP participated in multiple meetings with FDA and Congress as well as served as a source of information for the Government Accountability Office (GAO) in its multiple reports on compounding medications.
  • IACP submitted comments to all FDA requests for comments on 503A and 503B guidance.
  • On average, IACP generates an 80 to 90 percent readership open rate on IACP Member Alerts, Capitol Connections email distributions. Average open rates for non-profit membership organizations are 22.8 percent – per Constant Contact, Inc. 2014.
  • Organized and managed “Compounder Roundtable” news conference event at Compounders on Capitol Hill (CCH) 2014, which generated substantial positive news coverage of IACP’s position on FDA implementation of DQSA in several key trade publications.
  • Proactive press release efforts increased by 40 percent in 2014 with a series of press releases in wake of DQSA’s passage and FDA implementation.
  • The IACP Corporate Partner Program reached an all-time high! IACP now has 65 Corporate Partners. In fact, since the IACP Corporate Partner program was founded, it has grown by 106 percent.
  • The 2014 Educational Conference drew a total of 347 attendees including 85 first time attendees from 38 states; seven from Canada and one from Puerto Rico. All 22 booths were sold out in LESS than one month.
  • CCH had 400 attendees in 2014, representing 37 states. All 44 exhibits sold out.
  • 12 live AdvanCE webinars produced in 2014; 855 attendees, 2014 Gross Revenue: $17,452.52
