Pharmacy name: Diamondback Drugs, Scottsdale, AZ

Years Previously Served on IACP Board: NA

Provide a brief bio of your career.

After graduating from ENMU in 2009 I began my pharmacy career in an independent compounding pharmacy. I instantly became enthralled with the art and science of compounding.  During the next seven years of my career my role changed from compounding technician, to the Compounding Lab Manager.  With this role my focus included regulatory and compliance work.  I was instrumental in obtaining PCAB accreditation for my pharmacy. I briefly taught pharmacology in the Pharmacy Technician Certificate program at Central New Mexico Community College. In 2016 I moved to Arizona to expand my career and focus more on Quality Assurance, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs. I currently work at Diamondback Drugs as the QA and Compliance Manager.

Please provide a statement of why you want to serve.

Nine years ago, I started my career as a compounding technician.  As I watched the regulatory landscape change over the years I became inspired to learn and do more to protect the profession that I am so passionate about. I’m currently working as a QA and Compliance Manager while I pursue a Masters degree in Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance from Temple University School of Pharmacy. I believe it is vitally important to stand up and fight for patient access to compounded medication. I would love the opportunity to have a more active role with IACP.
